We have been working through a book on Proverbs with the kids, and one definition I have found helpful is the one for listening. Listening is paying careful attention to someone else, and it involves physically evidencing that you are doing so out of respect and love for others (ie – looking at the person, turning towards them,….). I came across this post from the Femina blog about listening to our daughters, especially when what they are saying isn’t actually what they are feeling and meaning, and being able to discern what is really going on in their hearts. I found it challenging and thought-provoking and wanted to share it. You can read it here.
